Today’s Hadith: Act of Charity is Your True Wealth
How to Collect True Wealth?
As we are busy working and earning money in our daily lives, it is easy to forget that the material wealth we accumulate will one day be gone, the true wealth that remains with us on the day of judgment and in the hereafter are the charity we spent, the food we shared, the kindness we showed, and the trouble we helped relieve.
Abu Mutarrif reported: I came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was reciting the verse, “Competition for wealth diverts you,” (102:1). The Prophet said, “The son of Adam boasts: My wealth! My wealth! O son of Adam, have you truly earned any wealth but what you ate and consumed, or put on and wore out, or spent in charity so it remained?”
